Expedition into coral extinction
Expedition into Coral Extinction is a 13+ meter-long printed edition on thermal paper. Based on the IUCN Red List, the project offers a visual exploration of endangered marine life, focusing on coral species. Using typography as the sole visual language, the work translates biological data into expressive compositions made entirely of text, glyphs, and typographic symbols.
Through its scale and accumulation, the edition highlights the extent of coral extinction and encourages reflection on environmental awareness.
The use of thermal paper, a fragile and fading medium, reflects the vulnerability of coral ecosystems. This deliberate restriction transforms scientific information into a sensitive visual experience, where form replaces illustration.
